Role Summary:

The Fleet Operations Manager at LT Corporation, Inc. is tasked with ensuring the safe and efficient management of the transportation fleet. This role serves as the authority on DOT compliance, offering guidance and support to the team regarding regulatory matters, supervising internal audits, and ensuring adherence to DOT standards. The Manager is pivotal to the organization and plays a key role in the leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee compliance and driver safety across all operational areas, including vehicle inspections, medical certifications, licensing, driver log management, and substance testing.
  • Monitor adherence to Hours-of-Service regulations, Electronic Logging Device (ELD) usage, and conduct pre/post trip inspections while managing driver log audits.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and address DOT complaints as per the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMSCR).
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive driver safety program, promoting safe practices through regular safety audits of vehicles and trailers.
  • Manage the fleet of transportation equipment, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding weight limits, permits, hazardous materials, and service hours.
  • Guide the Fleet Specialist in identifying, arranging, and authorizing necessary repairs to maintain DOT compliance.
  • Participate in the onboarding process for new drivers, emphasizing core safety principles and accident prevention.
  • Conduct evaluations of the fleet to ensure maintenance standards meet DOT requirements, maintaining safety records and documentation.
  • Manage accident and insurance claims, conducting investigations into incidents and ensuring proper documentation is completed and reported.
  • Review financial documents, monitor expenditures to ensure alignment with approved budgets and compliance with contracts.
  • Collaborate with the logistics team and associated companies to foster a cooperative environment that drives efficiency and positive outcomes.
  • Exemplify LT Corporation's leadership principles, reinforcing the company's purpose, core beliefs, and values among team members.
  • Lead and mentor the Fleet Specialist, fostering positive employee relations and promoting best practices.
  • Oversee budget management, analyzing expenditures and reviewing financial reports to ensure budgetary goals are met.
  • Stay informed about current and upcoming regulatory compliance requirements in logistics.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in transportation, specifically with DOT regulations.
  • In-depth knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, Hazardous Materials Regulations, and Drug & Alcohol Regulations.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Logging Device (ELD) rules and regulations.
  • Experience in the transportation of hazardous materials is preferred.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships with third-party logistics providers is preferred.
