Job Overview

Position: Compliance Coordinator


Reporting To: Compliance Manager


Role Summary: The Compliance Coordinator plays a vital role in assisting the Compliance Manager to ensure that Theraplant's production operations adhere to the cannabis regulations set forth by Connecticut and relevant local standards. This position involves supporting the creation of regulatory documentation, conducting compliance audits, and providing ongoing regulatory assistance. The Compliance Coordinator is essential in upholding and executing compliance measures, ensuring that all activities are in line with state and local cannabis legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stay informed about the latest Connecticut cannabis regulations, assess their implications, and assist in updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of an effective compliance framework.
  • Ensure adherence to Connecticut cannabis laws and regulations.
  • Assist in the formulation and execution of company-wide policies and SOPs.
  • Regularly update Theraplant's SOPs.
  • Design and implement compliance training programs for staff.
  • Engage in internal audits, identify compliance gaps, and aid in preparing for external audits.
  • Support the Compliance Manager during inspections by the Department of Consumer Protection (DCP).
  • Assist in the development and execution of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs) stemming from audits.
  • Monitor and review training to ensure compliance with cannabis and federal regulations (GMP, GDP, GLP, HACCP, OSHA).
  • Collaborate on updates to packaging and labeling to maintain compliance.
  • Manage and maintain compliance documentation and logs.
  • Assist in managing product recalls and addressing health and safety concerns.
  • Ensure that facility safety programs are up-to-date and compliant (e.g., fire extinguisher checks, eyewash station maintenance).
  • Support the Compliance Manager with regulatory submissions.
  • Oversee the accuracy of seed-to-sale data and rectify system deficiencies with Bio Track/Flourish.
  • Maintain reports, data management systems, tracking logs, and compliance records.
  • Foster relationships with representatives from state regulatory agencies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in compliance.
  • Familiarity with cannabis seed-to-sale platforms is preferred.
  • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software.
  • Strong attention to detail and data entry capabilities.

Compensation: Compensation will be based on experience.
