Position: Compliance Coordinator
Reports To: Compliance Manager
Role Summary: The Compliance Coordinator plays a crucial role in assisting the Compliance Manager to ensure that Theraplant's production operations adhere to the cannabis regulations set forth by Connecticut and relevant local guidelines. This position involves contributing to the formulation of regulatory documentation, performing audits, and providing ongoing regulatory assistance. The Compliance Coordinator is vital in maintaining and executing compliance protocols, ensuring that all activities are in line with state and local cannabis regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stay informed about Connecticut cannabis regulations, assess their implications, and assist in updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Support the establishment and maintenance of an effective compliance framework.
- Ensure adherence to Connecticut cannabis laws and regulations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of company-wide policies and SOPs.
- Regularly update Theraplant's SOPs.
- Design and oversee compliance training programs for staff.
- Engage in internal audits, identify compliance gaps, and assist in preparing for external audits.
- Support the Compliance Manager during inspections by the Department of Consumer Protection (DCP).
- Facilitate the creation and execution of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs) following audits.
- Monitor and review training to ensure compliance with cannabis and federal regulations (GMP, GDP, GLP, HACCP, OSHA).
- Collaborate on updates to packaging and labeling to ensure compliance.
- Manage and maintain compliance logs.
- Assist in managing recalls and addressing health and safety concerns.
- Ensure that facility safety programs are current and compliant (e.g., fire extinguisher checks, eyewash station maintenance).
- Support the Compliance Manager with regulatory submissions.
- Oversee the accuracy of seed-to-sale data and address any system deficiencies.
- Maintain comprehensive reports, data management, tracking logs, and systems.
- Foster relationships with representatives from state regulatory agencies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in compliance.
- Experience with cannabis seed-to-sale platforms is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software.
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong data entry skills.
