About the Role

BigCommerce is seeking an experienced Account Executive to join our growing Mid-Market sales team. As a key member of our sales organization, you will be responsible for driving sales revenue by acquiring new high-value, enterprise clients and showcasing the power of the BigCommerce platform to help them grow their businesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive Sales Revenue: Acquire new high-value, enterprise clients by demonstrating the capabilities of the BigCommerce platform.
  • Manage the Sales Process: Actively manage the sales process, including positioning, presenting, and closing sales.
  • Be a Subject Matter Expert: Act as a territory owner and subject matter expert for one or more categories/verticals.
  • Cultivate Effective Sales Strategies: Identify each client's unique needs and develop effective sales strategies and proposals.
  • Coordinate Implementation: Coordinate resources for implementation, with an emphasis on attaching internal BigCommerce services.
  • Provide Industry Expertise: Provide eCommerce industry information to clients regarding web design, online marketing, eCommerce strategies, and more.
  • Achieve Sales Targets: Achieve sales targets and performance metrics.
  • Manage CRM and Account Set: Maintain a CRM with leads and effectively manage an account set, keeping detailed and accurate notes of all sales-related activities.
  • Communicate with Management Team: Communicate with the management team and team members to increase client satisfaction and conversion, and drive overall sales improvements.
  • Engage with the BigCommerce Partner Ecosystem: Engage closely with the BigCommerce Partner Ecosystem and Sales Engineering team to design solutions and close sales.
Requirements
  • 3+ Years of Full-Cycle Sales Experience: 3+ years of full-cycle sales experience, including technology sales experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment with a focus on consultative solutions selling for a SaaS or eCommerce company.
  • Talented Seller: A demonstrated ability to drive complex sales with all stakeholders, including executive management and technical teams, and have successfully, consistently achieved quotas and objectives within an outbound, client-acquisition-driven business.
  • Master Influencer: Excellent written/verbal communication and customer relationship skills are critical.
  • Techie: Strong Internet, email, and electronic document management skills are a must. A basic understanding of eCommerce technologies (shopping carts, web hosting, email, and online marketing tools) is a plus.
  • eCommerce Geek: Technical understanding of software and the eCommerce space combined with strong business and sales acumen.
  • Ethical: A customer-focused approach and a commitment to doing the right thing every time.
  • Attentive: Ability to manage sensitive client information and numerous details with ease.
  • Driven: A results-oriented closer with a positive outlook and a clear focus on quality and business performance.
  • Analytical: Ability to provide consistent, accurate sales forecasts.
  • Solution-Oriented: Ability to identify and creatively solve complex problems to keep a sale on track.
  • Confident: Mastery of the art of the cold open, skills for overcoming objections, and a healthy approach to handling rejection.
