Mortgage Loan Specialist

Job Summary:
The individual in this role will report directly to the Loan Originations Manager and will be instrumental in the solicitation and origination of residential mortgage loans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in the solicitation and origination of both conventional and government-backed residential mortgages.
- Promote mortgage programs and bank services to real estate professionals, builders, and potential clients.
- Develop an annual sales strategy that identifies key accounts and potential prospects.
- Conduct regular sales outreach to targeted accounts, fostering strong business relationships.
- Collaborate with community banking offices and loan support teams to communicate product updates and policy changes.
- Work alongside outreach officers to provide mortgage solutions in underserved areas.
- Advise potential clients on suitable mortgage options based on their financial profiles.
- Prequalify applicants by assessing income, debt, employment history, and credit data.
- Manage the loan application process from initiation to closing, ensuring clear communication with all parties involved.
- Stay informed about market trends and competitor activities to enhance service offerings.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Identify opportunities for cross-selling bank products and refer clients to appropriate departments.
Performance Metrics:
- Achieve annual sales targets ranging from $9-$12 million.
- Maintain a referral network of approximately 15-25 accounts as outlined in the sales plan.
- Meet a monthly loan closing average of $750,000.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent with strong language, reasoning, and analytical skills.
- Proficient understanding of conventional and government loan programs, as well as secondary market guidelines.
- A minimum of two years of sales experience, with solid computer skills.
