Position Title: Safety Coordinator

Compensation: $75,000 - $85,000 Plus Benefits

Role Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Safety Coordinator to enhance our management team. This role focuses on the promotion and coordination of safety measures across our Low Income Housing (LIH) multi-family portfolio, which includes 15 properties. The Safety Coordinator will be instrumental in establishing a visible presence at each location, utilizing de-escalation and conflict resolution strategies to ensure the safety of residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional service to residents, contractors, colleagues, community partners, and the public.
  • Maintain a physical presence at each property, exemplifying de-escalation and conflict resolution techniques to encourage positive community interactions.
  • Ensure resident adherence to lease agreements and community guidelines through direct engagement.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement to share information and reports regarding safety incidents.
  • Support property management in documenting incidents for lease enforcement related to criminal activities or disturbances.
  • Evaluate the safety requirements of each property, identifying areas of concern and recommending enhancements to improve security. Develop an annual safety strategy for each site.
  • Facilitate communication among property management, law enforcement, off-duty security personnel, and residents to align security efforts.
  • Oversee the resident Safety Ambassador initiative and promote the Apartment Residents on Watch (AROW) program.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • A minimum of four years of experience in law enforcement or criminal justice, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in criminal investigations and conflict resolution.
  • Possession of a valid handgun license in Texas.

Preferred:

  • Degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or Social Sciences; or an Associate's degree with relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in Spanish, Vietnamese, Arabic, or Sign Language.
  • Strong understanding of local law enforcement practices and housing regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace applications.
  • Ability to engage effectively with a diverse population, including residents.
