Overview:

Under the guidance of the Principal, the Campus Safety Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring a secure environment for students on campus. This position is essential for maintaining order and promoting student safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular patrols of designated areas, including buildings, parking lots, and outdoor spaces, to identify and address security concerns, vandalism, or safety hazards. All incidents must be reported to an administrator.
  • Address student issues and mediate conflicts, escalating serious matters to the administration when necessary.
  • Assist in overseeing dismissal processes and ensure that visitors adhere to established protocols.
  • Monitor hallways, cafeteria, and common areas during transition times, verifying student hall passes and identification.
  • Supervise lunch periods in the cafeteria and oversee electronic security systems within the school.
  • Respond to emergencies in accordance with school and district policies.
  • Support student drug testing initiatives and report any suspicious activities to the administration.
  • Perform thorough checks of all school entrances to guarantee security.
  • Investigate safety and security incidents, providing detailed reports to campus leadership.
  • Uphold district policies and enforce school regulations.

Additional Duties:

  • Maintain confidentiality and serve as a positive role model for staff and students.
  • Engage in approved professional development activities.
  • Complete other assigned tasks as required.
