Position Overview:
As the Area Safety Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and health of our campus and its operations. Your expertise will guide our commitment to maintaining a secure environment for all staff and students.

Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting thorough evaluations of site conditions and contractual obligations to ensure adherence to relevant federal and state regulations.
  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive Safety, Health, and Environmental (SH&E) Management System tailored to our institution's needs.
  • Providing leadership and oversight to Project Safety Managers and Safety Coordinators, ensuring they meet project-specific safety requirements.
  • Supporting the development and execution of tailored Safety Plans for various projects and office locations.
  • Facilitating safety training programs for all personnel, enhancing their technical proficiencies in safety practices.
  • Conducting regular safety audits and inspections, managing corrective actions, and maintaining compliance records.
  • Reporting on safety performance metrics to management, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Coordinating environmental compliance efforts, including sampling and testing as required by regulations.
  • Maintaining documentation and records related to environmental compliance and safety initiatives.
  • Assisting with waste reduction programs and other safety-related initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Safety and Occupational Health, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in managing SH&E programs in educational or similar environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA and ANSI regulatory standards.
  • Relevant certifications in SH&E fields, such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong communication skills.
