POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Property Manager, the Desk Clerk is responsible for overseeing the flow of individuals entering and exiting the premises, engaging with tenants, visitors, and staff. This role includes documenting end-of-shift reports and incident reports, processing work orders, enforcing community policies in alignment with fair housing regulations, and maintaining an orderly reception area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage incoming calls, directing them appropriately, taking messages, and making emergency calls as necessary.
  • Support office functions, including the completion of work orders, visitor violation forms, and other tasks as assigned by management.
  • Educate visitors on the visitor policy, verify visitor identification, and manage the sign-in and sign-out process.
  • Prepare incident reports to document any unusual activities within the building.
  • Distribute resident mail on a daily basis.
  • Provide coverage for other desk clerks during their absence as needed.
  • Compliance with annual tuberculosis testing and adherence to Exposure Control Protocol for bloodborne pathogens may be required.
  • This position is part-time during the graveyard shift from 11 PM to 7 AM.

Qualifications

  • Experience interacting with diverse populations, particularly those with special needs, is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local laws, as well as Fair Housing guidelines.
  • Proficiency in reading, understanding, and communicating fluently in English.
  • Strong awareness, urgency, and adherence to procedures for problem-solving.
