About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Dirty Habit Washington DC. As a key member of our culinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences for our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Executive Chef in overseeing kitchen operations and expediting orders to maintain top-notch taste and presentation.
  • Provide supportive leadership to the kitchen team, ensuring seamless service and exceptional dining experiences.
  • Prepare meals to meet guest specifications in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Accurately measure kitchen ingredients and food portions.
  • Ensure the kitchen team adheres to established standards, procedures, and sanitation requirements.
  • Utilize kitchen knives and equipment effectively.
  • Manage kitchen inventory, ensuring supplies are fresh and of high quality.
  • Maintain proper food temperatures during cooking and storage.
  • Keep workstations and kitchen equipment clean, organized, and sanitized.
  • Assist with hiring and training new kitchen team members.
Requirements
  • Formal culinary training in food preparation and culinary management preferred.
  • Relevant licenses or certifications as required by local and state agencies for food production and management.
  • Minimum of 2 years of formal culinary experience or food service management in a busy restaurant or hotel kitchen.
  • Demonstrated experience using kitchen equipment and a thorough understanding of various cooking methods, food preparation techniques, and sanitation procedures.
