Job Description

The Building People, LLC, is seeking a highly skilled Facilities Management Engineer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Facility Surveys: Utilize the ANSI/BOMA Z65 measurement standard to conduct thorough facility surveys, ensuring accurate space requirements and equipment locations.
  • Space Planning and Management: Assist in determining space requirements, construction costs, environmental constraints, encroachments, and other critical planning functions to optimize facility usage.
  • CAFM System Management: Responsible for programs and upgrades for CAFM projects, ensuring seamless integration and functionality of CAFM systems, dashboards, workflows, reports, and API interfacing.
  • Facilities Optimization: Streamline facilities management and maintenance processes to enhance efficiency and improve business performance.
  • Liaison and Communication: Serve as a liaison among field activity personnel, move coordinators, office space points of contact, and customers to gather, coordinate, validate, and accurately track space allocation move management information using Computer Aided Facility Management (CAFM).
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree from an accredited school and 3 years of experience in conducting facility surveys using the ANSI/BOMA Z65 measurement standard.
  • Technical Expertise: Expertise in reading and interpreting building construction drawings, using laser measuring devices, CAD software, and database management skills.
  • CAFM and CIFM Technologies: Expertise in CAD, CAFM, CIFM technologies, and knowledge of GSA PBS National Business Space Assignment Policy (current edition).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • eSMART Expertise: Expertise in eSMART is highly desirable.
  • CAFM Certification: Prefer certification in CAFM.
  • Architecture, Engineering, and Construction Knowledge: Familiarity with architecture, engineering, and construction is preferred.

  • Security Clearance: Ability to meet Federal & DoD Gov't security background checks, HSPD-12, Fingerprinting, plus agency-specific screening.
  • Remote Work Experience: 2+ years successfully working from home or remote location, with minimal supervision.
  • Cyber Security: Operate within a NIST compliant security environment internally and able to support all client-required cyber security data and operational processes. Value and protect company, colleague, and customer data.
  • Home Office Environment: Operate within a home office environment that provides adequate workspace and high-speed internet connectivity.
