The Facilities Maintenance Engineer plays a crucial role in the upkeep and functionality of all mechanical systems, appliances, and building-related infrastructures. This position collaborates closely with fellow engineers under the guidance of the Lead Engineer/Chief Engineer and may oversee junior engineers on various assignments.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-4 years of progressively responsible experience in a commercial property or tenant management environment.
  • Knowledge of building maintenance and repair techniques, along with basic property management skills.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capacity to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of leadership, teamwork, and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct scheduled maintenance and repairs, including equipment testing and preventative measures.
  • Address unscheduled maintenance requests, such as plumbing issues, minor equipment failures, HVAC concerns, electrical repairs, and minor structural fixes.
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of fire and life safety systems within the property.
  • Perform regular preventative maintenance tasks to ensure optimal functioning of all building equipment.
  • Respond to emergency calls after hours as required.
  • Carry out routine inspections of the building and its systems.
  • Promote and uphold safe work practices with a focus on overall safety.
  • Engage with tenants to understand their needs and foster positive, productive relationships.
  • Collaborate with the Property Manager/General Manager on assigned projects.
  • Flexibility in work schedule may be required, including overtime and evening/weekend hours to meet project deadlines.

This position is 100% in-office, requiring presence during standard business hours. Remote work or telecommuting is not available for this role.
