We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Vectrus. As a key member of our Facility Engineering Program, you will work closely with government and contractor engineers to deliver critical engineering support services.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to perform facility engineering tasking, leveraging expertise in 3D design and solid modeling software.
- Provide professional engineering support for HVAC planning, including design, construction, operation, and maintenance of facilities and equipment.
- Conduct testing and balancing services for air and water systems, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
- Review and recommend improvements to engineering design proposals, design drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Offer guidance and advice to government engineers on all aspects of HVAC facilities design, construction, operation, and maintenance.
- Participate in the planning of construction and redesign programs, identifying deficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
- Utilize industry-leading software and hardware tools to track load changes and other parameters of design, construction, operation, and maintenance.
- Establish energy and heat load budgets to identify current deficiencies and anticipate future requirements.
- Evaluate and recommend methods for load control, including remote and tele-metering techniques, to reduce utility demand and costs.
- Prepare design concepts, program development brochures, MILCON programming documents, cost estimates, economic analyses, plans, and specifications for construction projects.
- Inspect construction projects and existing facilities to identify deficiencies, recommend changes, and ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
- Provide guidance, direction, and assistance to technicians working in related disciplines.
- Maintain technical liaison and communication between on-site technicians and the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR).
