Qualifications

We are seeking candidates who possess the following:

  • A High School diploma or equivalent (GED); a college degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of six months of relevant experience in the hospitality or service sector.
  • Proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and comprehending the primary language(s) of the workplace.
  • Capability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operating instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Ability to compose routine reports and correspondence.
  • Effective communication skills for presenting information to groups of colleagues and staff from sister properties.
  • Proficiency in creating documents using Excel and Word.
  • Familiarity with various computer programs, including Property Management Systems.
  • Mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and algebra, utilizing whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
These requirements represent the minimum levels of knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for successful job performance. The employee will be expected to demonstrate the abilities or aptitudes required to perform each duty proficiently, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adhere to all operational standards, policies, procedures, manuals, training materials, memos, and verbal instructions.
  • Complete all checklist items for each shift.
  • Check in and out hotel guests in a confident, professional, and personalized manner.
  • Accurately and efficiently process hotel reservations.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of special projects.
  • Respond promptly to all guest feedback and concerns, notifying the immediate supervisor of any issues and assisting in implementing corrective measures as needed.
  • Foster positive relationships with all employees and guests.
  • Ensure all phone calls are answered courteously, professionally, and efficiently.
  • Maintain an accurate log of guest requests for assistance or complaints, ensuring all items are addressed.
  • Open, secure, and balance shift banks, verifying all cash, credit card, and room charge transactions during shifts.
  • Ensure accuracy in all accounting and billing procedures.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of hotel availability, current rates, and special events that may affect occupancy.
  • Issue guest safety deposit boxes upon request.
  • Demonstrate fluent knowledge of local dining options, special events, city attractions, amenities, and directions.
  • Maintain open communication with all departments and upper management via email, log books, meetings, etc., to ensure all hotel needs are met.
  • Uphold a high standard of cleanliness and safety in the work area.
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained in good, safe working condition.
  • Stay vigilant regarding safety issues throughout the property.
  • Keep informed about safety and emergency procedures and OSHA requirements.
  • Participate in relevant meetings.

Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • At least six months of relevant experience in the hospitality or service industry.

Policy and Service Responsibility
  • Must comply with all hotel/company loss prevention guidelines.

Physical Requirements
  • Able to perform essential functions consistently, safely, and successfully, in accordance with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Must maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and squat frequently.
