About the Role

Vaco is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our team. As a key member of our financial management team, you will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring the financial health and compliance of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process vendor invoices, verify purchase orders, and ensure timely payment of bills for raw materials, supplies, and services.
  • Generate and send invoices to customers for product sales, record incoming payments, and follow up on overdue accounts receivable.
  • Monitor inventory levels, reconcile inventory records, and perform periodic inventory counts to ensure accuracy.
  • Track production costs, including materials, labor, and overhead expenses, and allocate costs to products accurately.
  • Calculate and process employee payroll, including hours worked, overtime, and deductions, and ensure compliance with labor regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records in the general ledger, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to provide insights into our financial performance.
  • Assist with tax preparation and compliance, including sales tax, use tax, and payroll tax filings.
  • Support financial audits by providing documentation, reconciliations, and explanations of financial transactions.
  • Analyze financial data and trends to identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and business growth.
Requirements
  • 3 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Excel; experience with manufacturing ERP systems is desirable.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, cost accounting principles, and inventory management.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, record-keeping, and financial analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret financial data to support decision-making.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to a positive work environment.
