Overview

At Concentra, we're committed to delivering exceptional patient care and improving the health of America's workforce. As a Medical Support Specialist, you'll play a vital role in our patient care team, providing clinical support and ensuring a seamless experience for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine medical and testing procedures under direct supervision of the treating clinician.
  • Support registration and referral management as needed.
  • Prepare patients for physical examinations, including vital signs and ancillary testing.
  • Assist providers during examinations and treatments.
  • Perform routine medical procedures as ordered by the treating clinician.
  • Triage emergent patients as needed.
  • Prepare and assist clinicians with procedure setup and injury care.
  • Apply bandages, dressings, and splints as ordered by the treating clinician.
  • Dispense medications and DME as ordered by the treating clinician.
  • Complete quality assurance activities on equipment and medical devices.
  • Maintain supplies, clean rooms, and equipment.
  • Maintain and operate medical devices and equipment.
  • Notify supervisors of equipment issues or supply needs.
  • Assist with patient flow and volume.
  • Keep patients informed of expected wait times.
  • Perform front office duties, including greeting patients and answering phones.
  • Follow HIPAA guidelines and safety rules.
Qualifications
  • Vocational/Technical/Business School education.
  • Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited school or Military Medical Specialist with current Medical Assistant credentials.
  • At least six months of medical assistant experience.
  • Knowledge of medical procedures and medical terminology.
  • Working knowledge of occupational medicine requirements (state specific) preferred.
