Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily reviews of outstanding charges to guarantee precise diagnosis and procedure coding in accordance with documentation, and return encounter notes to healthcare providers for necessary clarifications to reduce claim denials.
- Accurately post pending charges in a timely manner following provider signatures and ensure proper documentation archiving.
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource for physicians, administrative staff, and patients regarding coding compliance and insurance claim procedures.
- Act as an intermediary between patients and clinic personnel concerning coding, claims, denials, and inquiries related to insurance.
- Process daily insurance payments, including manual adjustments and applying discounts, to maintain accurate patient account balances post-insurance.
- Analyze daily insurance accounts receivable, resolve issues within a specified timeframe, document activities, and ensure timely corrections, resubmissions, and follow-ups on claims to uphold low denial rates and manage accounts receivable efficiently.
- Request refunds from patients or insurance entities when required.
This role is integral to maintaining the financial health of our organization and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
