Shifts: Day and Night Shifts Available
We are in search of a proficient Crane Operator to contribute to our operations at a busy stevedoring facility. The Crane Operator will be tasked with the operation of cranes to effectively move, position, and reposition various loads. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of crane operation and safety protocols, demonstrating a commitment to upholding a secure work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Operate a variety of cranes to lift, transport, and position loads, including containers and bulk materials.
- Conduct inspections of cranes and assess capacities to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Collaborate with ground operations personnel to guarantee the safe transfer of cargo in accordance with established plans.
- Follow detailed instructions from ground staff using hand signals, radio communication, and other methods to guide crane movements.
- Perform regular maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues to the maintenance team.
- Comply with safety regulations and company policies consistently to maintain a secure working environment.
- Keep accurate logs of crane operations, inspections, and maintenance activities.
- Manage crane stability by applying knowledge of environmental factors such as tides and wind.
- Possession of a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) Card.
- Certification or licensing as a Crane Operator with demonstrated experience in operating large cranes, ideally in maritime or stevedoring settings.
- Familiarity with various crane types, including mobile, tower, and ship-mounted cranes.
- Strong grasp of crane operation protocols and safety measures.
- Excellent vision and depth perception, along with the physical capability to operate crane controls effectively.
- Ability to work under varying weather conditions and adapt to changing operational requirements.
- Effective communication skills essential for coordinating safely with ground personnel.
- This role involves operating cranes outdoors within a bustling maritime terminal, subject to diverse weather conditions.
- The position requires working at heights and in a high-noise environment, necessitating the use of protective equipment such as earplugs and helmets.
- Physical demands include prolonged periods of sitting and the necessity to climb to and operate the crane from the cabin.
