We are seeking a skilled Structural Welder to join our team at ULG Staffing. As a Structural Welder, you will be responsible for welding aluminum materials in various positions, working in a fast-paced shipyard environment.
Key Responsibilities- Welding of aluminum materials in all positions, including standing, sitting, lying, and kneeling.
- Climbing on and over bulkheads, up and down ladders, and working in confined spaces.
- Tack welding, including kneeling, standing, sitting, lying, and overhead burning of steel.
- Operating jacks, porta-powers, and come-a-longs, and lifting materials and tools weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Loading and unloading parts, and crawling through craft on top of tees and through manholes.
- Bending and twisting to access different compartments, and operating cranes and forklifts.
- Using power tools, including gougers, skill saws, cut saws, and grinders, and walking on uneven surfaces.
- 1-3 years of related experience in welding and shipyard operations.
- Demonstrated skills based on the results of the welding test.
The physical demands of this role include:
- Medium work involving constant standing and walking, material handling, and performing work in a hot, humid environment.
- Lifting up to 35 pounds for a single person lift, and up to 70 pounds for a team lift.
