- Select and attach cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks, and sheaves to ensure safe and efficient lifting operations.
- Collaborate with Bridge-or-gantry-crane Operators and Hoisting Engineers to ensure safe and efficient lifting operations.
- Set up, brace, and rig hoisting equipment to ensure safe and efficient lifting operations.
- Splice rope and wire cables to make or repair slings and tackle.
- Direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving heavy loads.
- Advanced Rigger certification.
- Ability to direct or plan an activity; attain set limits or standards; do simple arithmetic accurately; and make decisions based on measurable standards.
- Physical ability to see well; climb and/or maintain balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl; reach for, handle, and manipulate objects; lift objects weighing up to 100 pounds or more.
