Building Safety Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Safety Specialist to join our team at Safety by Design, Inc. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction safety, with a minimum of five years dedicated exclusively to building construction safety. This role requires an individual with hands-on experience, practical knowledge, and documented continuing education in critical areas of construction safety.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards on all construction sites.
  • Conduct safety audits and inspections focusing on fall protection, scaffolding, excavations, confined spaces, crane/equipment operations, electrical safety, and incident investigation.
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs to site personnel.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of safety training and certifications.
  • Lead and participate in incident investigations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Stay current with industry best practices and regulatory changes.

**Qualifications:**

  • A minimum of five years dedicated solely to building construction safety.
  • Practical knowledge, working experience, and documented continuing education in fall protection, scaffolding, excavations, confined spaces, crane/equipment operations, electrical safety, incident investigation, and other safety/health-related training. Training must be at least four hours in duration per topic.
  • Continuing education in noted training dated within five years of contract execution.
  • Possession of a certificate of completion for OSHA 510, OSHA 500, or OSHA 502, dated within five years of contract execution.
  • Current certification in Emergency First Aid, CPR, and AED, with certification dated within the last two years.
  • An OSHA 10/30 Construction Outreach or OSHA 510 certification alone will not meet this requirement.
