Job Summary

Safety by Design, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Safety Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction safety, with a minimum of five (5) years dedicated exclusively to building construction safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards on all construction sites.
  • Safety Audits and Inspections: Conduct safety audits and inspections focusing on fall protection, scaffolding, excavations, confined spaces, crane/equipment operations, electrical safety, and incident investigation.
  • Safety Training: Develop and deliver safety training programs to site personnel.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain up-to-date records of safety training and certifications.
  • Incident Investigations: Lead and participate in incident investigations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Industry Best Practices: Stay current with industry best practices and regulatory changes.
Qualifications
  • Experience: A minimum of five (5) years dedicated solely to building construction safety.
  • Knowledge and Training: Practical knowledge, working experience, and documented continuing education in fall protection, scaffolding, excavations, confined spaces, crane/equipment operations, electrical safety, incident investigation, and other safety/health-related training. Training must be at least four (4) hours in duration per topic.
  • Continuing Education: Continuing education in noted training dated within five (5) years of the contract execution.
  • Certifications: Possession of a certificate of completion for OSHA 510, OSHA 500, or OSHA 502, dated within five (5) years of the contract execution.
  • First Aid and CPR: Current certification in Emergency First Aid, CPR, and AED, with certification dated within the last two (2) years.
  • OSHA Certification: An OSHA 10/30 Construction Outreach or OSHA 510 certification alone will not meet this requirement.
