Overview:

At NovaCare Rehabilitation, we prioritize an outstanding experience for our patients right from their first interaction. As a Patient Service Specialist, you will be the cornerstone of our operations, bridging the gap between patient care and administrative functions. Your role at the front desk is crucial in advocating for patients, facilitating communication through various channels, managing financial transactions, and utilizing multiple software systems effectively. Your contributions significantly enhance the overall patient experience, even before they enter the consultation room.

Key Responsibilities:
We are looking for individuals who are adaptable, patient-focused, excellent communicators, detail-oriented, and collaborative team members. In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Welcoming new and returning patients, assisting with registration, and providing essential information about their visit.
  • Coordinating patient appointments both in-person and via phone.
  • Maintaining regular communication with various stakeholders, including healthcare providers and insurance representatives.
  • Processing patient payments, managing insurance verifications, and obtaining necessary approvals.
  • Providing patients with relevant information regarding their upcoming appointments during checkout.
  • Addressing inquiries from patients, healthcare providers, and colleagues.

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in healthcare settings.
  • At least one year of experience in a front desk role.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to engage in physical activities such as walking, standing, bending, and reaching throughout the workday.
  • Manual dexterity for typing and data entry tasks.
  • Capability to lift items up to 25 lbs safely.
  • Visual acuity to maintain accurate records and recognize individuals.
  • Effective communication skills to understand and provide directions.
