Position Overview:

AAA, United States, Inc. is currently seeking skilled upholstery specialists to join our dynamic team. We are engaged in the design and construction of military aircraft, business jets, and advanced space systems. This role is ideal for experienced fabricators looking to thrive in a complex and evolving work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute high-quality sewing and upholstery tasks while adhering to budget constraints.
  • Disassemble and reassemble various models of passenger seating.
  • Conduct maintenance tasks, including proper adhesive application and hardware installation.
  • Style and shape a variety of foams to align with specifications and customer requirements.
  • Layout, match, cut, and sew a range of fabrics, including intricate patterns, to ensure aesthetic symmetry.
  • Develop patterns based on prints, sketches, and verbal instructions.
  • Inspect and select appropriate fabrics, leathers, foams, and other materials for job assignments.
  • Fabricate and upholster all soft goods, including aircraft seats, divans, service ledges, side walls, headliners, and window panels.
  • Set up and operate various equipment, such as routers, sanders, and sewing machines.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in aircraft upholstery.
  • Proficient in setting up and operating standard upholstery equipment.
  • Able to interpret documentation such as 3D models, blueprints, and preparation packages.
  • Must not have allergies to chemicals, solvents, or materials used in upholstery.
  • Ability to distinguish colors and align intricate designs in fabrics.
  • Capable of lifting and transporting up to 40 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Visual acuity and dexterity to work on detailed, high-value products with minimal rework.
  • Willingness to wear protective equipment for extended periods.
  • Able to manage materials in elevated storage areas with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces and unusual positions.
