Position Overview

Universal Waste Systems is seeking a skilled Receivables Management Specialist to enhance our financial operations. In this role, you will provide essential financial, administrative, and clerical support, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our processes. Your primary responsibility will be to manage incoming payments and secure revenue by verifying and posting receipts.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Execute daily deposit activities.
  2. Timely recording and posting of all payments.
  3. Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies.
  4. Process electronic payments and manage telephone and ACI imports.
  5. Maintain cash receipt journal entries.
  6. Handle ACH postings.
  7. Assist with various projects and tasks as directed by management.
  8. Address returned deposit items.
  9. Oversee NSF and merchant chargebacks.
  10. Keep abreast of company and industry products and services.
  11. Monitor payment processes and account reconciliations.
  12. Facilitate monthly auto-pay transactions.
  13. Manage and respond to payment-related emails.
  14. Post refund checks and finalize accounts.
  15. Administer payment portals.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of:

  • Fundamental accounting and financial principles.
  • Contemporary office practices and the use of standard software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Accounts receivable methodologies.
  • Excellent organizational skills.

Ability to:

  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail.

  • Manage account statuses and balances while identifying discrepancies.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounts receivable, accounting, or a related field.
