POSITION SUMMARY:
Accountable for supporting patients, healthcare personnel, and providers throughout the check-in and check-out procedures. When required, responsible for managing appointment scheduling and patient records. Supplies patients with essential information to ensure they can fully utilize and benefit from the services offered by the clinic. Projects a positive representation of the clinic.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Welcomes patients and visitors in a timely, courteous, and supportive manner.
  • Processes patient check-ins and check-outs, confirming current details and gathering updated information and documentation as needed.
  • Uploads patient insurance cards and relevant documents into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
  • Collects necessary payments, issues appropriate receipts, and applies copay or co-insurance payments to the patient's account.
  • Balances the fees and charges incurred in the office and prepares daily deposits.
  • Coordinates any follow-up appointments.
  • Assists in managing incoming calls, screens inquiries, takes messages, and effectively communicates information to patients, their families, and referring physician offices.
  • Collaborates with clinical staff to ensure seamless patient care and clinic workflow.
  • Keeps the work area and reception area organized and tidy at all times.
  • Prints and distributes faxes and mail.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a Medical Receptionist role.
  • 1-2 years of experience in insurance verification.
