Job Title: Program Director - Middle School Afterschool ProgramJob Summary:

KIPP NYC Public Schools is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program Director to lead our middle school afterschool program. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, managing, and evaluating a comprehensive program that combines academics, youth development, and social-emotional learning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a program vision and strategy that aligns with KIPP NYC's mission and goals.
  • Manage and supervise a team of afterschool program staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating personnel.
  • Collaborate with school leadership and education specialists to develop engaging programming that meets the needs of middle school students.
  • Ensure alignment and communication between school-day and afterschool staff to provide a seamless experience for students.
  • Execute family and community engagement events and serve as a point of contact for families.
  • Gather and analyze program data to inform decision-making and ensure program effectiveness.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, including school leaders, staff, students, parents, and community partners.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • At least 3-4 years of experience in education and social services with children under the age of 13 years old.
  • One year in a supervisory capacity in a child care program or related field work.
  • Experience with OCFS School Age Child Care Regulations.
  • Successful experience developing, managing, and monitoring large, goal-oriented programs.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to self-direct, prioritize goals, and exhibit flexibility to drive results.
Benefits:

KIPP NYC offers a competitive salary ranging from $65,000-$78,000 for the Program Director role. Salary ranges at KIPP NYC are standardized based on role level and role function. Individual salaries are determined through a lens of equity, accounting for years of experience relevant to the role and scope of responsibilities, and are benchmarked against others within the same salary band.
