Position Overview:
The Full-Time Faculty Member for the Physician Assistant Program at Touro University New York is responsible for overseeing and assessing the clinical aspects of the program. This role requires a commitment of 36.5 hours per week and is ideal for individuals with an advanced degree and relevant academic experience. The faculty member will contribute to the program through expertise in advisement, coordination, administrative responsibilities, and management.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Coordination:
- Ensure compliance with accreditation standards by leading the PA Program's efforts to meet or exceed ARC-PA requirements.
- Organize and schedule both mandatory and elective five-week clinical clerkships.
- Distribute necessary documentation to clinical sites.
- Supervise Callback assignments under the Clinical Coordinator's guidance.
- Maintain comprehensive records for each student using the Exxat platform.
Teaching Duties:
- Instruct first and second-year students in relevant subjects.
- Deliver lectures in areas of specialization.
- Review and evaluate master's projects.
Curriculum Oversight:
- Monitor and assess learning outcomes.
- Review and grade clinical examinations.
Committee Involvement:
- Participate in relevant committees as requested by the Program Director.
- Engage in reaccreditation and program evaluation processes as deemed necessary.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Prepare exam questions under the Clinical Coordinator's direction.
- Facilitate student exams for Callback and Culminating semester using Examsoft and PAEA.
- Take minutes for the Academic Progress Committee when required.
- Proctor exams as needed.
General Responsibilities:
- Encourage participation in scholarly activities, including involvement in professional organizations and research.
- Assist in the preparation of accreditation documentation and the self-study process.
- Engage in school-wide committee activities.
- Contribute to recruitment efforts.
Qualifications:
- A Master's degree or higher is mandatory.
- Previous academic experience is recommended.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficient in managing and organizing daily tasks independently and collaboratively while balancing multiple projects.
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues in a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Salary Range:
Maximum Salary: USD $100,000.00/Yr.
Minimum Salary: USD $80,000.00/Yr.
