Job Overview

VisionsHR is in search of a Medical Director to lead the medical operations and treatment strategies for individuals dealing with substance use disorders within a certified inpatient detoxification and rehabilitation program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and address medical concerns reported by staff or patients.
  • Collaborate with psychiatric personnel to ensure adherence to medication protocols for patients under psychiatric care.
  • Provide consultation on medical issues in alignment with agency policies.
  • Supervise and/or prescribe medication-assisted therapies.
  • Conduct tuberculosis (TB) testing as necessary.
  • Oversee the assessment of adverse laboratory results.
  • Ensure compliance with health department regulations.
  • Manage the formulation and updates of medical policies and procedures, along with ongoing training for routine and specialized medical care.
  • Advise medical staff on various medical-related challenges.
  • Facilitate the development of referral and partnership relationships with other healthcare institutions.
  • Participate in case conferences and provide relevant feedback to counseling staff.
  • Authorize and sign all required documentation in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Establish policies for public health education and screening for patients regarding TB, STDs, hepatitis, and HIV/AIDS prevention.
  • Identify medical concerns and formulate policies for substance use disorder programs.
  • Supervise Staff Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants.
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
Qualifications:
  • Medical degree.
  • Progressing towards Board Certification in Addiction Medicine.
  • Valid MD license and registration certificate to practice.
  • DEA license.
  • Current BLS and CPR certification.
  • A minimum of five years of experience working with substance abuse populations.
  • Prior experience in medical administration.

  • Strong organizational capabilities.

  • Robust decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Work Schedule:

Full-time, Monday to Friday, five 8-hour shifts with weekend coverage as needed.
