POSITION TITLE:
Senior Office Coordinator - Veterinary Science & Wyoming State Veterinary Laboratory
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
To execute intricate administrative and management support functions with significant discretion; to independently make decisions that greatly influence operations within and beyond the designated unit/program; to oversee comprehensive office operations and manage support personnel for the department/unit. The selected candidate will primarily provide administrative assistance for the Department of Veterinary Sciences and the Wyoming State Veterinary Laboratory. Responsibilities will encompass financial decision-making, necessitate exceptional communication skills in a veterinary context, and require proficiency with various software applications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Independently interpret policies and procedures, delivering interpretations that necessitate extensive knowledge of university, state, and federal regulations.
- Address complex problem-solving scenarios. Act as a resource for the department/unit and campus.
- Engage in fiscal planning initiatives.
- Research, compile, develop, analyze, and synthesize data. Prepare related reports and correspondence; conduct thorough research for special projects as assigned by the supervisor.
- Establish and/or maintain intricate record systems and/or databases.
- Facilitate communication between individuals, departments, and/or external agencies as directed; assist with problem resolution as necessary.
- Propose modifications to and update existing office policies, systems, methods, and procedures; create/revise related documentation. Ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
- Supervise support personnel.
- The selected candidate will be one of three senior office coordinators responsible for shared duties supporting the administrative functions of the Department of Veterinary Sciences/Wyoming State Veterinary Laboratory. Primary duties will include all student and class-related administration, managing phone communications, scheduling meetings and events, assisting faculty with administrative tasks, supporting financial processes including p-card management, producing newsletters, and maintaining records and compliance. The individual will also be tasked with promoting the department through newsletters and other initiatives.
- Provide backup support for administrative functions of the Wyoming State Veterinary Laboratory.

This position is essential for supporting campus clientele and requires the successful candidate to be present on campus.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Associate's degree or equivalent experience
Experience: 1 year of progressively responsible work-related experience
Required licensure, certification, registration, or other requirements: Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with the University Vehicle Use Policy.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in preparing and editing documents to publishable standards.
- Experience in website development.
- Experience in an administrative role.
