Job Overview

University Village Thousand Oaks is seeking a dedicated HR Coordinator to join our team.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The HR Coordinator is responsible for managing employee records, facilitating onboarding processes, and providing support to the Human Resources Director with various administrative tasks and projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver exceptional service to residents, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Input and update employment information and produce employee reports within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
  • Organize and maintain employee files, work permits, and confidential HR documents. Coordinate onboarding sessions that create a welcoming experience for new hires. Assist the HR team in organizing events such as employee recognition programs and seasonal gatherings.
  • Conduct initial screening processes, including reviewing resumes, phone interviews, and in-person assessments. Collaborate with hiring managers on candidate evaluations and perform reference checks as necessary.
  • Investigate and address employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures.
  • Support the HR team with various administrative tasks and projects, which may include recruitment, employee engagement activities, training initiatives, and job referrals.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience in human resources is preferred.
  • Experience managing high call volumes, multitasking, and general office responsibilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Effective communication skills in English and basic mathematical abilities.
  • Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now is advantageous.
  • HR certification is a plus.

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, AED, and EMT are required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of EMT experience is preferred. Ability to exercise sound judgment and remain composed in emergencies is essential. Previous experience in security, safety, or medical response is a plus.
  • Must be able to comprehend and follow instructions in English. Strong verbal and written communication skills and basic arithmetic proficiency are required.
  • Exceptional customer service and hospitality skills are essential.
  • Familiarity with computers and the ability to learn and operate safety systems and equipment is necessary.
  • Prior experience working with senior populations is preferred.
  • Must have a clear criminal record as per FBI and DOF standards.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
