Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Manager to join our team at California's Great America. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies that support the company's business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of the Human Resources employment administration process, including applicant tracking, paperwork processing, document/record retention, benefits administration, and payroll.
  • Ensure adequate and friendly service is provided to all associates and applicants.
  • Manage all onboarding processes, including staffing levels during all phases of the park's operation.
  • Communicate with associates at all levels of the Company and key external contacts, including vendors, other business contacts, regulatory agencies, and local, state, or federal government offices.
  • Perform administrative responsibilities for HRIS systems, including payroll, ATS, time and attendance, scheduling, unemployment claims processing, and onboarding processes.
  • Develop and implement operating budgets for areas of responsibility, ensuring budgeting guidelines are met and prioritizing expenditures to stay within budget.
  • Provide training and direction to line associates by coaching and counseling associates to improve performance.
  • Delegate work assignments appropriately and motivate staff to achieve optimum job performance.
  • Partner with Employee Relations Manager to determine, document, and implement reasonable job accommodations for sincerely held beliefs and for an employee's verified claim of disability.
  • Act as an employee relations representative for concerns involving associate issues, such as harassment and discrimination claims.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of related experience in Human Resources, theme park, hospitality, entertainment, or travel industry preferred.
  • 5-7 years of effectively leading and supervising others.
  • Demonstrated strong familiarity with federal, state, and local labor laws, including EEO, medical and religious accommodations, FMLA, and minor labor laws.
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills, as well as, superior spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
  • Strong time and project management skills and experience.
  • A high level of organizational and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computers, including applicant tracking systems and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to speak in front of large groups and facilitate presentations and trainings.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze employment data and present relevant information to key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and deliver against set goals.
