Position Overview

Northstar Behavioral Health Network is dedicated to providing exceptional care for individuals facing challenges with substance use disorders, particularly focusing on Opioid and Stimulant Use Disorders. We are seeking a committed Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team and contribute to our mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply nursing expertise to deliver safe and effective therapeutic and rehabilitative care to assigned patients, ensuring positive health outcomes as documented and observed.
  • Execute independent nursing tasks following established protocols, policies, and standards, under the supervision of the Nurse Manager and Director of Nursing.
  • Administer medications with precision, monitoring patient responses and documenting all relevant information in the medical records.
  • Facilitate clear communication among patients, healthcare staff, and physicians, as evidenced by comprehensive documentation and feedback.
  • Manage client admissions and conduct narcotics counts.
  • Complete prior authorizations and ensure compliance through MAR audits.
  • Support effective communication with patients, ensuring that care plans are understood and followed.
  • Provide thorough change-of-shift reports, highlighting essential information regarding patient care.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, ensuring a holistic approach to treatment.
  • Handle incoming calls and inquiries, directing them appropriately to maintain efficient communication.
Qualifications
  • Current LPN licensure in the state of Minnesota.
  • In-depth knowledge of Minnesota statutes relevant to the services provided by Northstar Behavioral Health Network.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification or the ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and Google Suite.
  • Familiarity with Procentive and Electronic Health Record Systems is preferred.
