Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply nursing expertise and competencies to ensure the safe delivery of fundamental preventive, therapeutic, and rehabilitative nursing care for assigned patients, as demonstrated through thorough documentation and positive patient outcomes.
  • Execute assigned independent nursing tasks following established protocols, policies, and standards, under the supervision of the Nurse Manager and Director of Nursing.
  • Administer medications with precision, monitoring patient responses, and ensuring accurate documentation in medical records to prevent adverse outcomes.
  • Facilitate and coordinate communication among patients, staff, and physicians, as evidenced by feedback and documentation in the medical record.
  • Manage client admissions effectively.
  • Conduct narcotics inventory counts.
  • Complete prior authorization requests as necessary.
  • Perform audits and ensure compliance with Medication Administration Records (MAR).
  • Assist in fostering effective communication with patients, as reflected in their care plans, and provide timely shift reports containing relevant information for assigned patients.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure coordinated patient care, as indicated by feedback from various departments.
  • Respond to and direct telephone inquiries to ensure clear and timely communication.

Qualifications:

  • Current LPN licensure in the state of MN.
  • In-depth knowledge of all MN Statutes pertinent to the services provided to the population served by NBHN.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification or the ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and Google Suite applications.
  • Familiarity with Procentive and Electronic Health Record Systems is preferred.
