About The Position

Location: Remote (US hours)

We are in search of a highly proficient and seasoned Lead Software Engineer to become a vital part of our team. In this capacity, you will be tasked with the development and upkeep of cloud-based web solutions. This position entails working on both client-side and server-side components, making informed technology choices, and ensuring optimal quality and performance. You will work closely with diverse team members to create top-notch software products that provide significant value to small business owners and our broker partner clients.

This is an exceptional opportunity to enhance the methods by which insurance brokers cater to the unique requirements of their small business clientele.

Core Responsibilities
  • Architect, develop, and sustain web applications utilizing JavaScript, TypeScript, and React, deployed on AWS.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to define, design, and deliver new functionalities.
  • Implement mobile-responsive user interfaces and guarantee cross-browser compatibility.
  • Ensure the scalability and efficiency of applications.
  • Develop and maintain server-side logic, APIs, and databases.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
  • Conduct code reviews and offer constructive feedback to colleagues.
  • Provide guidance, leadership, and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Act as a liaison between product and other team members.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the entire stack.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends.
About You
  • You hold a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or possess equivalent experience.
  • You have a minimum of 6 years of experience in full stack development.
  • You bring expertise in AWS and proficiency with JavaScript, React, and TypeScript.
  • You are passionate about crafting elegant and intuitive systems that simplify complex workflows.
  • You possess a solid understanding of various architectures and their trade-offs.
  • You have knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • You are a creative and pragmatic problem-solver with a keen attention to detail.
  • You excel in communication and collaboration.
  • You have experience leading initiatives, prioritizing and sequencing tasks, making critical decisions, and stepping in for product when necessary.
  • You believe in a continuous, incremental, and experimental approach.
  • You thrive in a start-up environment and understand how to succeed in a dynamic setting.
