Job Overview:

The Senior Epidemiologist position within the HIV/STD/HCV Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit is pivotal in spearheading sophisticated analytics and epidemiological investigations that target populations impacted by HIV, STDs, and Hepatitis C (HCV). This role demands in-depth expertise in the surveillance of HIV/STD/HCV, understanding health behaviors linked to transmission, and employing geospatial analysis techniques.

In this capacity, you will lead and guide the daily functions of the unit, promoting teamwork, collaboration, and partnerships. Your key responsibilities encompass supervising staff objectives, orchestrating and executing epidemiological research, assessing risk factors associated with HIV/STDs/HCV, and guaranteeing the integrity and thoroughness of data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the principal epidemiologist in the unit, providing expert knowledge and independent analysis.
  • Lead and execute advanced epidemiological research, offer research consultancy, and apply innovative methodologies.
  • Serve as a subject matter authority in HIV/STD/HCV Epidemiology and Surveillance, aiding in investigations and studies.
  • Create educational resources, facilitate training sessions, and advise on budgetary and policy matters.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned, including support for disaster response and recovery efforts.

  • Expertise in epidemiological research design, statistical evaluation, and research methodologies.
  • Familiarity with health outcomes, measurement techniques, and relevant software applications.
