Position Overview:
The Senior Nurse Specialist, under general supervision, delivers comprehensive patient care, assessments, and treatment.

This role is accountable for the effective operation and upkeep of the clinic, which encompasses the management and ordering of medical supplies, medications, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver direct patient care, conduct evaluations, and provide treatment in alignment with Professional Nursing Standards.
  • Implement educational initiatives aimed at health promotion for students, including residence life and student organization programs.
  • Utilize a collaborative healthcare approach to triage patients, perform physical assessments, and administer treatments, including medications and therapies as prescribed.
  • Oversee the clinic's operations, ensuring proper inventory management and requisition of medical supplies, medications, and equipment.
  • Maintain and operate sterilization equipment for instruments and supplies.
  • Monitor patient records, evaluate healthcare needs, and offer patient education.

Additional Duties:
  • Design and implement educational programs focused on health promotion initiatives for students.
  • Deliver presentations to students, either individually or to groups.
  • Support outreach initiatives conducted on campus.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education: Associate degree in Nursing.
  • Experience: Four years of relevant experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in community health or public health settings.
  • Experience with emergency preparedness, including mass vaccination efforts.
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of:
  • Word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Standard nursing practices and techniques.
Skills:
  • Ability to multitask and collaborate effectively with others.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities.
  • Capability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
Licensure/Certification:
Licensed RN and CPR certified.

Physical Requirements:
This position operates within a general medical office environment.
