We are seeking a highly skilled Epidemiologist II to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a key member of our public health team, you will play a critical role in investigating and improving the quality of public health laboratory testing.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement epidemiologic projects to investigate and improve public health laboratory testing
- Conduct data analysis and provide expertise in the design, management, and evaluation of study protocols and health status questionnaires
- Develop and conduct trainings related to epidemiological and program evaluation issues
- Provide consultative services and technical assistance to healthcare professionals and other stakeholders
- Manage public health laboratory epidemiologic projects and design and implement surveillance processes for adverse health conditions
- Master's degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in epidemiology and public health
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with statistical analysis software such as SAS or SPSS
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws related to public health
- Ability to plan, conduct, and report on epidemiological investigations
