Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough risk assessments of energy trading portfolio and develop risk mitigation strategies to minimize potential losses and maximize returns.
- Develop, monitor, and analyse market conditions, price movements, and regulatory changes that may impact trading activities, providing actionable insights to inform business decisions.
- Collaborate with traders to set risk limits and ensure compliance with risk management policies, ensuring that our trading activities are aligned with our risk tolerance.
- Implement risk monitoring tools and systems to track exposure and limit breaches, providing real-time visibility into our risk posture.
- Generate and present regular risk reports to senior management and stakeholders, providing clear and concise summaries of our risk position.
- Develop and maintain risk models and analytics to support decision-making, providing data-driven insights to inform business decisions.
- Develop, review, evaluate, and enhance risk management policies and procedures to adapt to changing market conditions, ensuring that our risk management framework remains effective and relevant.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory requirements related to energy trading risk management, ensuring that our risk management practices are aligned with industry standards.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to address specific risk-related projects and initiatives for energy trading or other related projects, collaborating with colleagues to drive business outcomes.
- Other duties as assigned by management, including contributing to the development of risk management strategies and initiatives that support business growth and success.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or a related field, such as Economics or Business Administration.
- Proven experience in risk management within the energy trading industry, with a strong understanding of energy markets, derivatives, and risk assessment techniques.
- Strong knowledge of risk modelling and analytics tools, including experience with data analysis and statistical modelling.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop actionable insights.
- Effective communication and presentation abilities, with the ability to present complex information to senior management and stakeholders.
- Ability to work well in a dynamic environment, with a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork.
- Familiarity with relevant regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements, including experience with risk management regulations and standards.
