Position Overview

The Patient Access Specialist plays a crucial role in enhancing the patient experience by facilitating communication between patients, families, and healthcare providers throughout the care process. This position is accountable for intricate patient scheduling, ensuring timely access to the right healthcare professionals with the necessary medical records.

Key Responsibilities
  • General Duties: Identify areas for operational improvement and proactively communicate solutions. Participate in the development and implementation of procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency. Maintain confidentiality during all patient interactions.
  • Scheduling: Manage the scheduling of multi-disciplinary appointments efficiently, advocating for patients and coordinating necessary support services. Investigate and resolve complex scheduling issues, ensuring all appointments are documented accurately.
  • Registration and Check-In: Complete all registration processes, including necessary documentation and financial screenings. Clearly communicate payment responsibilities to patients and assist them in navigating financial services.
  • Customer Service: Exemplify the organization's values while fostering strong patient relationships. Prioritize customer needs and demonstrate exceptional service in all interactions.
Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; customer service experience is preferred.

Experience: Relevant experience is advantageous but not mandatory.

Licensure: No specific licensure required.

Physical Requirements

This role requires prolonged periods of sitting and repetitive motion associated with computer use. Strong communication skills across verbal and written domains are essential, along with attention to detail and the ability to compose clear messages.
