Position Overview:

We are seeking a Lead Broadcast Systems Engineer who will serve as a vital connection between our organization and our clients, ensuring their requirements are met and satisfaction is achieved. This role involves working collaboratively within a dedicated operational team, reporting directly to senior management and engaging with various stakeholders across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with production and technical teams to design and implement broadcast systems tailored to the specific needs of each live event.
  • Support the Engineer In Charge at designated event venues, stepping into that role as necessary.
  • Assist in the integration of audio, video, and broadcast control systems.
  • Set up, configure, and operate broadcast equipment during live events.
  • Troubleshoot and devise innovative solutions to technical challenges in real-time to maintain broadcast quality.
  • Establish and execute quality control measures to uphold the highest standards of audiovisual production for live broadcasts.
  • Monitor and analyze issues related to RF, video, audio, cameras, digital switchers, routers, and other broadcast equipment.
  • Document and update engineering specifications accurately.
  • Oversee and resolve technical issues concerning video, cameras, and digital routing systems.
  • Conduct diagnostics, troubleshooting, and maintenance of all technical equipment in the event space.
  • Design and implement wired and wireless communication systems.
  • Manage the transcoding of digital files and oversee post-production editing and delivery processes.
  • Interpret and troubleshoot network connectivity and power distribution issues.
  • Develop content capture, backup, archival, and delivery workflows.
  • Work on events that may span multiple days or weeks.
  • Effectively manage tasks in a broadcast team environment, collaborating with talent, producers, and directors under tight deadlines.
  • Quickly adapt to new tools and technologies relevant to broadcast engineering.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactively address problems with a hands-on, adaptable approach.
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects and requests simultaneously.
  • Maintain professionalism and composure under pressure while providing necessary support.
  • Uphold confidentiality regarding all business matters.
  • Excel in time management to meet project deadlines efficiently.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • 10+ years of extensive experience in broadcast engineering.
  • Thorough understanding of broadcast systems, audio/video signal flow, and related equipment.
  • Proficient in broadcast control systems and relevant software applications.
  • Basic networking skills and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Familiarity with audio/video standards and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Experience with HD/3G-SDI, embedded audio, and various sync types.
  • Experience in large conference-style events is advantageous.
  • Proficient with computer formats such as HDMI, DVI, VGA, and DisplayPort.
  • Experience with digital routing switchers and control systems.
  • Familiarity with video switchers/mixers.
  • Knowledge of peripheral broadcast equipment.
  • Ability to set up and operate audio consoles and perform cable termination.
  • Understanding of power distribution best practices.
  • Proficient with Google Workspace tools and MS Outlook.
  • Experience with fiber workflow and troubleshooting is a plus.
