Key Responsibilities:

As part of our expanding Data Center Mission Critical Group, we are looking for a Mid-Senior Level Civil / Structural Engineer to enhance our team.

  • Engage in engineering design and analytical projects within the commercial and critical power sectors.
  • Contribute to the design and analysis of modifications to existing Data Centers, as well as the development of new building systems and designs.
  • Conduct static equivalent and dynamic structural analyses for seismic loads utilizing hand calculations and structural software.
  • Design equipment mounting, foundation structures, and support calculations for Mechanical/Electrical systems.
  • Comprehend seismic qualification processes for equipment.
  • Understand nonstructural seismic design and the design of building seismic force-resisting systems in accordance with the latest codes and materials.
  • Stay updated with current material codes for steel, concrete, cold-formed steel, masonry, and wood construction.
  • Familiarize yourself with the International Building Code and relevant design regulations.
  • Review, compile, and prepare comprehensive design reports.
  • Lead projects autonomously and coordinate tasks among project team members.
  • Conduct site assessments to identify design solutions and develop cost-effective resolutions.
  • Perform site inspections and provide field support during the construction of structural designs.
  • Create detailed drawings using CAD software.
  • Present project submissions to clients and facilitate both internal and external meetings.
  • Assist in the development of proposals for future structural projects.
  • Draft specifications for structural components.
  • Estimate costs for structural modifications.
  • This role necessitates proficiency in structural analysis software and standard office productivity tools.
  • Execute tasks requiring the application of fundamental technical principles, theories, standards, and concepts, including interpreting design drawings and technical specifications to support project deliverables such as calculations, specifications, and engineering evaluations.
  • Collaborate extensively with other engineers across various disciplines on multi-faceted projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in an engineering capacity.
  • Proven expertise in preparing structural calculations is preferred.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship is required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
  • Basic proficiency in CAD software is necessary.
  • Exceptional writing, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within teams.
  • Capability to serve as the lead engineer for projects involving multiple disciplines.
  • Physical ability to navigate ladders and stairs at client locations.
  • Willingness to travel 15-25% of the time, with travel duration varying based on project and client requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PE License is preferred, particularly a California PE License.
  • SE License is desired or a plan to obtain it within five years.
  • A Master's degree in Structural Engineering is advantageous.
  • Previous experience in designing structures for commercial and critical infrastructure settings is preferred.

Compensation:

The salary range for this full-time position is determined by role, level, and location, with individual pay influenced by work location and additional factors such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
