Position Summary:

Kikiktagruk Inupiat Corporation is seeking a qualified Superintendent to oversee the comprehensive management of construction projects from initiation to completion.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct pre-job assessments to familiarize with contractors and project specifics; attend essential preconstruction meetings.
  • Identify and rectify work deficiencies promptly.
  • Visit job sites as required to gather information necessary for project estimation.
  • Collaborate with Project Management to coordinate material and labor scheduling across departments.
  • Maintain consistent communication with Project Managers to ensure projects are executed on time and within budget.
  • Review project details with Project Manager and Foreman, establishing clear communication lines regarding change orders and billing.
  • Coordinate with the Warehouse to prepare equipment lists and manage logistics for material deliveries.
  • Provide field support for crews, supervising Foremen and tracking labor efficiency.
  • Document job progress through daily reports and photographs.
  • Evaluate project performance and identify cost control measures for projects exceeding budget.
  • Uphold a professional demeanor and foster positive relationships with coworkers and clients.
  • Adhere to all OSHA regulations and maintain a safe working environment, demonstrating a strong commitment to safety.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • At least ten (10) years of experience as a Superintendent with a comparable contractor.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in construction.
  • Thorough understanding of construction practices, techniques, codes, and regulations.
  • Experience in scheduling and record-keeping.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is advantageous.
  • Must be able to pass a government background check and obtain site access.

Certifications and Licenses:

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; CDL preferred.
  • OSHA 30-Hour certification.

Work Environment:

  • Commercial office building environment including offices, conference rooms, and mechanical spaces.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move materials and tools weighing up to 50 lbs. independently and over 50 lbs. with assistance.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, standing, reaching, and walking.
  • Capability to climb ladders as necessary.
