Aves Construction, a leading underground utilities contractor in the DMV region, is seeking an experienced Project Superintendent to join our team.

This role involves managing construction crews, equipment, subcontractors, and materials on water and sewer projects throughout our designated service area. You will collaborate closely with estimators and project managers/engineers to ensure the successful planning, scheduling, execution, and completion of projects from inception to finish.

As a Superintendent, you will champion a culture of safety, profitability, productivity, and quality within your assigned crews. Your responsibilities encompass adherence to company policies, procedures, and guidelines while providing leadership and guidance to ensure exceptional project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain a safe work environment by implementing and enforcing all safety protocols and standards.
  • Collaborate with estimators and project managers to optimize efficiency and profitability, ensuring a thorough understanding of project plans, specifications, and scope of work.
  • Develop and review timely project schedules in consultation with relevant personnel.
  • Motivate and guide your team to consistently exceed labor production estimates.
  • Maintain clear communication with owners, inspectors, and internal management regarding project progress.
  • Effectively allocate employees and equipment to projects based on their expertise and requirements.
  • Coordinate seamlessly with subcontractors and material vendors to ensure uninterrupted workflow.
  • Make informed personnel-related decisions or recommendations.
  • Conduct daily report audits and redlines for accuracy and compliance.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading underground utilities and/or civil construction crews. Experience with small diameter service replacement, large diameter, and deep underground pipe projects is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in utilizing construction industry software such as HCSS, Excel, and Word.
  • Demonstrated organizational and planning skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
