Position SummaryThe Eligibility Specialist plays a crucial role in determining the eligibility of patients for various government assistance programs (such as Medi-Cal, SSI/SSDI, and others) in accordance with established protocols. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting initial assessments through telephone interviews.
- Completing necessary applications for benefits.
- Following up with patients and county representatives to ensure case completion.
- Submitting applications to the relevant agencies.
- Updating patient information in our database.
- Performing additional related tasks as required.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent is mandatory.
- 1-2 years of experience in customer service, preferably in a healthcare setting, or a combination of education and experience.
- A genuine desire to assist others.
- Bilingual abilities in Vietnamese, Mandarin, Cantonese, or Spanish are advantageous.
- Proficient in basic office skills and computer usage.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational capabilities.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Typing speed of at least 30 words per minute.
Working Title: Case Manager I
Compensation: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour, based on relevant experience.
Employment Type: Full-time; Non-Exempt
Schedule: Alternative Work Week Schedule - Monday to Thursday from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm and Friday from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm.
