Child Care Eligibility Specialist

Job Summary:The Family Services (Eligibility) Specialist will determine eligibility and assist parents eligible under the California subsidized child care programs gain access to child care programs and services. This role requires strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work with diverse and underserved populations.
Key Responsibilities:- Determine eligibility and process enrollment for families under the California subsidized child care programs
- Conduct appointments to assess family eligibility and collect documents
- Schedule and conduct timely interviews to facilitate family enrollment or continuation of services
- Effectively manage client activities and changes for a caseload of approximately 175+ clients
- Provide customer service to families, providers, and internal customers
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor of Science/Arts degree from an accredited university or equivalent
- Experience working with families receiving subsidized childcare or other social support services
- Knowledge and competency with using County Welfare Department applications and other database applications
- Ability to analyze and problem solve, as well as accuracy and an ability to produce in a timely manner
