Job Title: CDSS Childcare Eligibility Specialist (FSS)

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Childcare Eligibility Specialist (FSS) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for determining eligibility and assisting parents eligible under the California subsidized child care programs gain access to child care programs and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Determine eligibility and process enrollment for families under the California subsidized child care programs.
  • Conduct appointments to assess family eligibility, collect documents, explain program rules, and assess family's need for program referrals.
  • Schedule and conduct timely interviews to facilitate family enrollment or continuation of services.
  • Effectively manage client activities and changes for approximately 175+ clients, ensuring the highest levels of quality, accuracy, and program integrity.
  • Collaborate with the Fraud Prevention Unit to maintain program integrity.
  • Provide customer service to families, providers, and internal customers.
  • Provide supportive referral services to families and providers as needed.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in determining eligibility for family services, customer service, human services, social services, administrative/clerical support, or a related field.
  • Must provide proof of Covid-19 vaccination.
