Position Overview

The City of Boise is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our Police Department's Records Division as a Records Management Specialist. This role is crucial in ensuring the accurate handling and processing of police records.

Work Schedule

This position requires flexibility, with a standard workweek of 40 hours, typically structured as four ten-hour shifts. Candidates must be available to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Compensation

The starting salary for this role is $17.50 per hour, with additional shift differentials for evening and night shifts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the management of police records in compliance with established regulations and procedures.
  • Provide support to law enforcement personnel and the public at the front counter, addressing inquiries and processing requests.
  • Ensure the confidentiality and security of sensitive information in accordance with legal requirements.
  • Utilize various software systems to enter, update, and audit police records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Compile data for reports and assist in the preparation of documentation for legal proceedings.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess a high school diploma and have at least two years of experience in a professional office environment, particularly in data entry and customer service. Knowledge of law enforcement practices and record management is preferred.

  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with database management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
