Position Overview

The City of Boise is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our Police Department's Records Division as a Records Management Technician. This role involves working collaboratively within a team to ensure the efficient handling of police records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and manage police records in accordance with established regulations and procedures.
  • Assist law enforcement personnel and the public with inquiries at the front counter.
  • Utilize various software systems to enter, verify, and maintain data accuracy.
  • Ensure the confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
  • Review and interpret crime reports, applying relevant laws and guidelines.
  • Compile and prepare reports, correspondence, and documentation as needed.
  • Provide administrative support to police staff and assist in coordinating information for case processing.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A high school diploma and two years of experience in a professional office setting.
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with data management systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and exercising discretion.

Working Conditions

This position requires flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. The work environment is primarily indoors, and physical demands may include occasional lifting and carrying of up to 20 pounds.
