Position: Facilities Manager (Full-time)

Role Summary

We are in search of a Facilities Manager to oversee the New York State Regional Food Hub (NYSRFH), a cutting-edge produce distribution center located in the Bronx. This role entails ensuring the efficient and safe operation, maintenance, and management of the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

Management and Maintenance Duties:

  • Oversee a comprehensive maintenance strategy for the facility.
  • Manage relationships with on-site vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.
  • Support the operational needs of GrowNYC's programs and tenants.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators to achieve operational goals.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and presentations.
  • Lead the recruitment, training, and development of building service staff.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and operational standards.
  • Supervise security contracts and daily operational tasks.
  • Manage the facility's budget and financial reporting.
  • Perform hands-on repair work as necessary.

Planning Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with leadership to align with GrowNYC's mission.
  • Oversee life safety systems and develop emergency response plans.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant facilities management experience.
  • Experience in warehouse operations is preferred.
  • Proven track record in staff supervision and budget management.
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC and mechanical systems.
  • Strong customer service skills with a focus on satisfaction.
  • Proficient in vendor management and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills across diverse backgrounds.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities calmly and efficiently.
  • Competent in computer skills, including spreadsheets and presentations.
  • Self-motivated and committed to excellence.
  • Flexible with scheduling, including on-call responsibilities.
  • Professional demeanor with conflict resolution skills.
  • A passionate leader focused on operational excellence.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications or specialized training.
  • Completion of a trade school program.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and navigate the facility for inspections.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position requiring 35-40 hours per week, with flexibility for emergencies.
